Hello, I'm Anders!

I am an extremely ambitious problem solver, with a talent for leadership and managing complex tasks, and a desire to mentor and educate those around me.

After earning my undergraduate degree from the University of Cincinnati’s DAAP Program, I decided that Chicago was the only place to be. Moving to the Windy City in the fall of 2013, I attended the Illinois Institute of Technology where I completed my Master of Architecture. While at IIT, I participated in the SOFA Connect program as an artist and taught sketching and observation courses to first year students as a Cloud Scholar.

I became licensed in the Spring of 2018 and am a member of the AIA.

I’ve been working with my current firm, OKW, since 2018 and have grown from a Project Architect to a Senior Project Architect and then to a Project Manager - taking on several projects at once, managing design and documentation, and interfacing with clients and contractors. In 2022 OKW signed the AIA 2030 Commitment and I became the new OKW Sustainability Manager and formed our Sustainability Action Group to shepherd that mission forward. I strongly believe that good design is for everyone, and should be inclusive, sustainable, and responsible.

I have been an active mentor in the ACE Chicago Mentor Program since 2015, serving as a Team Leader for 3 years, and a member of the ACE Associate Board since the fall of 2017. I served as the Treasurer from 2020 until 2022, and currently serve as the Vice President.

In 2023, I was hired as an Adjunct Professor in the Art and Architecture Department at Harold Washington College in Chicago. I am currently teaching a 2nd year studio with a focus on urban scale.

I also enjoy renovating my 3-flat home, reading, cooking, playing games, traveling, and caring for my plants.
